NOWA NOWA - WHERE THE
WATERS MEET

Nowa Nowa is where we live,
Named for where the waters meet,
Also known as our timber town.
The birds here have songs,
Worth more than golden crowns.
We’ve learnt some Gunai language at school,
The teacher who taught us is really cool.
Soooooo,
These are the ones we know.
Dolphin is K-noon,
Through water she’ll zoom.
Jiddilick is frog ,
He jumps over a log.
Tambo is fish,
He’s yum on a dish.
Platypus is Jimmalong,
Through water she’ll swim along.
Negeth my turtle,
I call her myrtle.
Goola is koala,
 I tell my father.
Goongara is possum,
She’s near a blossom.
Goanna is Bathaluck,
He’s near a truck.
Tooroong is snake,
He makes me shake.
Echidna is Kowern,
She sniffs, as she’s going.

Down at our lake,
There are lots of things to do.
You can have a picnic,
If you want to.
Or you could go,
For a swim.
But don’t be grim,
If you can’t swim.
Because you can go for a walk,
Or do some sport.
There’s a playground for the,
Young ones to.
And many other things to do.
If you want to stay,
Go to mingling waters.
There you can go to the lake,
And have a play.
Up at the hall we can play,
Badminton on Monday.
It’s on sometime after school,
You can win trophies,
Which is really cool.
So come to Nowa Nowa,
Where the waters meet.
And I think you’ll find,
It’s quite a treat!
