For Nancy and Jamie
At
Nowa Nowa all of the kids have two-koori education. They do koori studies
with us they do it with the big kids and the little kids too.
We like it so much, we like drawing and learning about things that
we don’t know. When we need help they will help us, they are so cool
Nancy reads a story to us then we draw it and whatever Nancy says is what
we have to do. So we do it cause we love Nancy that much and she loves us
all. We are doing reconciliation and we have koori words. We know koori
animal names.

Our
school has koori studies on Wednesdays. Throughout the years most of us
have learnt some of the names of our local animals in the Gunai language
(See “NOWA NOWA IS WHERE WE
LIVE” in the poems section to learn more).
