A Trip to Africa
Wow! I’m at the
African airport, in Kara Togo. I’ve waited YEARS for this. Right now
I’m wondering what the wilds gonna be like… Oh, there’s the tour car
I better get going!
Now I’m off.
I’m in a tour with the
tour-guide. First we’re going to see the zebras which are down by
the lake. I’m wondering if there is a crocodile in the lake and if
there is will it jump up and eat the entire zebra herd. But my
instinct says it will be a beautiful sight.
The tour car stopped
at a small hill near the lake. “Okay, now you can use these
binoculars and zoom in towards the zebras.” the tour-guide
explained. Oh, by the way his name is Jimbubu. He passed me the
binoculars. They were pretty big. “They’re beautiful!” I excitedly
said. “I know they are” Jimbubu said. “What do we do tomorrow?” I
asked. “Giraffe riding” Jimbubu Replied. “Whoa” I whispered.
“Now, to your own mud hut to
stay in.” Jimbubu said.
“What on Africa is a mud hut?”
“It is a small cosy hut made out of straw and mud.”
“Will the mud fall on me?”
“Don’t worry Jade, It might be a bit smelly, but it won’t fall on
you.”
“SMELLY, by what?”
“The poo_”
“Poo, I thought it was mud!”
“It is mud mixed in with poo and grass and we put it around the
twigs until it dries. That’s what a mud hut is.”
“Oh.” I sighed. Later on, we finally got to the mud hut.
“Here are the keys” Jimbubu said.”Thanks” I said, taking the keys.
“What time will you come pick me up tomorrow?” I asked
Eleven tomorrow morning.
Jimbubu
replied.
“Cool, ok seeya!” I
yawned.
“Bye Jade. Enjoy
your mud hut.”
“I will.”I set my alarm to
9:30 AM. I had a shower, got dressed, ate and brushed my hair.r />
After
all that was done, the time was 10:52 AM. “Now I can sit and relax
for a bit.” I yawned.“Jaaaaaaaaaade.
Jaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaade??”“Wha_what? Oh sorry
I think I snoozed off.”
After a while of
bumpy driving the car stopped. “We’re here” Jimbubu said.
“Cool!” I replied.
Finally, we were at
the Giraffe riding tours. “Wow” I whispered. “I’m actually going
giraffe riding!”
“Niji auf id cosocur.”
The giraffe riding instructor said.
“What?” I asked
confused.
“Hundo belos figu
jija ibi nokaka.” Jimbubu said.
“Sorry.” he sighed.
“He said welcome to the giraffe riding tours. I asked if he could
speak English for us.” Jimbubu explained.“Thanks” I said.
The instructor took
us to our giraffe and taught us everything we needed to know.
“Ok, you can go now.
Remember not to go through the gates!” “Okay, bye!” I replied.
This giraffe was
AWSOME! It was a girl. We walked around the waterfall but suddenly
someone opened the gates and it didn’t take the path. The giraffe
that I was riding ran straight through! “AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!”
I screamed.
The giraffe ran as
fast as it could around a corner far away from the zoo. I swung off
the giraffe’s back. “WHOA!” Crash. I tried to call her. “HERE
JENNI!” I yelled. But the giraffe was out of sight. I was weak and I
saw an orange and black figure coming towards me. Then, I fell
asleep.
I woke up in a warm
cosy place with a warm blanket on the side of me. Well, at least I
thought it was a blanket. I turned to look at my blanket. It was a
tiger. “Hhh” I gasped. I heard a weird noise. It was sort of like a
purr. Yes, it was. After a few seconds trying to find out what the
noise was, the tiger turned around and faced me then the noise
became louder. It was a tiger purr. The tiger loved me.
After 2 hours, the
tiger was the friendliest thing I’ve ever known. It gave me
lick-kisses, big cuddles and loved to play games. I looked around
the tiger’s ears. It had a name tag thing on it. I looked at it
properly. It read 815 Kara Togo Zoo. “You’re from that zoo aren’t
you? But why did you rescue me? Why didn’t you come back?” RAWW. “I
wish I could understand tiger language.” Then we heard a noise. Two
men came in with spears in their hands. It was Jimbubu and the
instructor. “Run Jade!” Jimbubu yelled. “NO WAIT!” I screamed, “He
won’t hurt you!” Jimbubu and the instructor stopped. “What?” they
asked “I’ve been here for two hours he hasn’t hurt me” “Oh, well we
better leave.” Jimbubu sighed. “I will go now if that’s ok.” The
giraffe instructor said. “Bye.” “Wait, I have to say bye to the
tiger.” I said sadly. I went over to the scared tiger and kissed him
on the head and said good bye. “Raww. Whine.” He said.
I told Jimbubu what
had happened in the car on the way back to the airport. It was a
long trip back.
So I said goodbye to
Jimbubu and got my bags packed. I had enjoyed a heart wrenching and
exiting trip on Africa. Now it would be a long trip back.
