The old 
Nowa Nowa railway station  

In May 8th 1888, railway line was completed and opened from sale to Bairnsdale. A passenger service ran daily till Saturday, April 27 1935. Who remembers the refreshment room on the Nowa Nowa station, managed by the Ilton’s also known family of Nowa Nowa, they also ran the boarding house. Later, the refreshment room was used as a temporary schoolroom, and as time went on it was demolished. The station has always been a busy place and has handled not only in coming goods but the out going have been stupendous, as surrounding district for miles depending on its facilities.
